The Tudors

I’m devastated to learn that The Tudors (my favorite show ever) which I thought was starting in January, might actually be starting in March.  http://www.sho.com/site/tudors/home.do I was all ready to dig into the next Philippa Gregory novel to get myself in a 16th century frame of mind, but, alas, it will have to wait.

In case you haven’t seen it, The Tudors is the only show on TV (Showtime) where in spite of knowing everything that’s going to happen, it still manages to be suspenseful and gripping.  In Season 1 there was lots of sex, and in Season 2, lots of death, so there’s something for everyone.

Seriously, it went from a pretty smutty soap opera set a long time ago, to a really well done historical drama.  The episode where Sir Thomas More is executed is one of the finest hours on television I’ve ever seen.

Oh well.  At least I’ll have The Bachelor in January.  😉
